Sports injuries

Sports injuries can include injuries that don't necessarily happen on a court, rink, or field.  A sprained ankle from stepping off of a curb, a sore shoulder from house painting, or a wrist fracture from a slip/fall accident can be included in this type of injury.

For you weekend warriors, we specialize in all sports-related injuries, from pulled hamstrings to ACL reconstruction rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation

There are many factors that must be taken into account in the rehabilitation of sports or activity lauriehipmachine.jpgrelated injuries.  If soft tissues are inflamed due to an acute injury, the swelling, or edema, must be addressed first and foremost.  If muscle or connective tissues have been sprained or strained, we must enhance the healing and strengthening processes.  If there is bony involvement, or if you are post-surgery, we interact closely with your doctor and his or her particular protocol for rehabilitation.

For Inflammation or Edema Control, we use various modalities and manual techniques, including Interferential Current Electric Stimulation, Ultrasound and Phonophoresis, and Therapeutic Massage and Range of Motion Assisted Exercises.
